What You Need To Know About Synthetic Oils

For your car's engine, motor oil is needed as it serves a number of different purposes. The main function of motor oil is to make sure that all of the moving parts of the car's engine are properly lubricated in order to prevent any wear and tear as well as prevent it from corroding. Engine oils are also great for keeping the car cool. The conventional oil that most people use is basically made from crude oil which is pumped from the ground and then underwent a process in the refinery. There are then additives added to it in order to improve its viscosity, protection properties as well as the heat breakdown levels of the oil.

Synthetic oils on the other hand also go through the same process of conventional oils which uses base oil and then additives are then added. But what's different with conventional oils is that synthetic oils are made using fully synthesized base oil. This kinds of best 5w30 oil have molecules that are ideal in weight and has a consistent size. Conventional motor oils have molecules that have sizes that are mixed an also have impurities. With synthetic oil, you will get a purer base oil which has equal sizes of molecules which basically improves the oil's viscosity. Compared to conventional oils, synthetic oils also have more refined additives which are far better than that of conventional oil.

With synthetic oil and its refined additives, you will get an engine oil that is considered to be more stable which will maintain its viscosity regardless of the level of temperature that engine is in. this means that it will still flow properly, making your engine lubricated and protected all of the time. Synthetic c oils also have friction inhibitors which work better at lower temperatures compared to conventional oil. These are also one feature of best synthetic oil that is very useful especially during engine start up.  With synthetic oil, you will get an improve lubrication and enhance viscosity which protects the engine from wear and tear, decreases the heat breakdown volatility in order to decrease oil consumption, good engine starting even on cold temperatures, reduction of engine deposits and will improve fuel mileage.

There is also semi-synthetic oils available in the market which is also being used as an alternative to pure synthetic oils. It's a combination of the properties of synthetic oil and conventional oil. It is these oils that are used in older model cars. You have to know though that in semi-synthetic oils, you will not get the full advantage if its advance additives.
